With the 2024 recruiting cycle officially underway, Oklahoma State is on the hunt for a quarterback.

Will Hammond, a touted and highly productive passer out of the Lone Star State, reported an OSU offer on Wednesday.

Hailing from Hutto High School (Texas), Hammond led a Hippos offense that averaged 35.8 points per game. As a junior in 2022, he completed 59.1 percent of his passes for 2,763 yards and 30 touchdowns with just five interceptions. He also rushed for 728 yards and nine more scores.

By the time he hits college, Hammond figures to have three full years of experience running an offense. After debuting as a freshman in 2020, he broke out as a sophomore with 1,704 yards and 17 TDs to five picks and rushed for 419 yards and eight rushing scores.

That production and experience have earned him plenty of suitors. OSU makes Hammond’s 11th offer, joining a list that includes Auburn, Texas A&M, Oregon, Tennessee, Penn State and fellow Big 12 schools Houston and Texas Tech. But he’s technically already made his decision public, committing to the Red Raiders this past December. To be fair, they were his only Power Five offer when he pledged.

Hammond is a three-star prospect, according to 247Sports Composite rankings, the No. 35 quarterback in the 2024 class and the No. 81 talent out of Texas. He’s the No. 31 passer according to On3.

The Cowboys have yet to secure a QB commit for 2024. If Hammond were to flip from the Red Raiders and commit to OSU, he would be the second-highest-rated pledge behind Longview (Texas) safety Willie Nelson. OSU also offered Duke quarterback commit Hauss Hejny last week.

Take a look at Hammond’s junior season highlights.
