Oklahoma State Quarterback Drew Mestemaker to Attend Manning Passing Academy

Another sign that Oklahoma State has one of the best passers in the country presented itself on Thursday.

Nola.com announced on Thursday the college quarterbacks who will attend the Manning Passing Academy. It’s a who’s who of college talent, and a list that includes new Oklahoma State quarterback Drew Mestemaker.

“I don’t think there’s ever been as many good college quarterbacks as there are this year,” Archie Manning told Nola.com. “We had more requests than we could honor.”

The college quarterbacks work the camp as counselors but will compete in a Friday Night Lites skills competition. The camp starts June 25 and ends June 28.

Held at Nicholls State in Thibodaux, Louisiana, the Manning Passing Academy has been a premier football camp for 30 years. It’s ran by the Mannings, a famous quarterbacking family that has produce Archie, Peyton and Eli as NFL quarterbacks.

The camp’s alumni list includes seventeen former Heisman Trophy winners and the past four NFL MVPs in Matthew Stafford, Josh Allen, Lamar Jackson and Patrick Mahomes.

Mestemaker transferred to Oklahoma State this offseason from North Texas. He led the country in passing last season with 4,379 yards and 34 touchdowns to nine interceptions as a redshirt freshman.
