The first portal addition of the offseason for the Cowgirls is here.

Virginia Tech transfer Jayden Jones announced on Saturday that she is headed to Stillwater. Jones took 60 at-bats as a true freshman with the Hokies this past season, where she had a .250 average, 14 runs scored and 12 RBIs.

Jones’ sister, Audrey, is set to join the Cowgirls as a true freshman next season. Audrey was Michigan’s Gatorade Player of the Year in 2024. As a junior at Gaylord High School, Audrey hit 26 home runs with 84 RBIs and went 15-0 in the circle with 122 strikeouts in 81 innings.

As for Jayden, she was listed as a 5-foot-6 utility player for Virginia Tech, where she was used in left field, at second base, as a designated player and a pinch hitter. She had five multi-hit games as a true freshman, including in her college debut against Fordham. She went 2-for-4 that day with a run scored, a double and an RBI.

Jayden went 2-for-4 against LSU in a game in February, where she hit her first home run and finished with two runs scored and two RBIs.

Jones was named the 2024 Michigan Miss Softball by the Michigan High School Coaches Association. As a high schooler, she hit .498 with 241 runs score with 47 home runs and 201 RBIs. Her dad played baseball at Central Michigan.

She is the first portal pickup Kenny Gajewski and Co. have made but likely won’t be the last. Since OSU’s season ended, a few Cowgirls have hit the portal, including Tallen Edwards and Micaela Wark, but OSU has also received some good news this offseason like ace pitcher Ruby Meylan saying she has “unfinished business” to take care of.
