Steve Lutz’s first-ever transfer commitment at OSU is back in the portal.

Arturo Dean entered the portal according to a report on Saturday. He leaves OSU with one year of eligibility remaining.

Dean transferred in as Lutz’s first addition after taking the reins in Stillwater a year ago. He spent his first two seasons at Florida International.

After coming off the bench for the first half of the season, Lutz inserted Dean as his starting point guard for OSU’s third Big 12 game, a win against Kansas State. He started the next 20 games to end the season and through OSU’s NIT run.

Dean ranked fourth on the team, scoring 7.6 points per game and led the team with 3.4 assists per game to just 2.4 turnovers. A year after leading the NCAA in steals at FIU, he ranked sixth in the nation for the Cowboys. He recorded at least two steals in his final 10 games at OSU including a pair of seven-steal performances.

The news means that Robert Jennings II and Adrija Vukovic are the only two scholarship players remaining from last year’s roster with remaining eligibility who have not entered the portal. The Cowboys have landed a slew of proven scorers from the portal, though, with former Oregon big Parsa Fallah being the latest.
