Oklahoma State-Texas Set for an Early Kickoff in Austin
OSU-UT will be FOX’s Big Noon Kickoff.
Oklahoma State’s Week 6 matchup against Texas will be a morning kickoff, and on the big stage.
The Cowboys will play just their second early game of 2021 when they visit Austin to play the recently heartbroken Longhorns.
During OSU’s bye week, we were treated to an exciting episode of the Red River Rivalry that might have seemed like an all-timer — if that game wasn’t always a fluky back-and-forth affair.
Without recapping a non-OSU game — and in case you spent your off Saturday under a rock — the Longhorns built a big, early lead, lost it, came back and tied the game late in the fourth quarter, just to lose to OU on a last-second huge rush play.
The results of that drama are that the Pokes and ‘Horns will meet up before the Saturday siren sounds.
Coming off of a bye week, the Cowboys will lock ‘Horns with the Big 12’s still highest scoring offense (in a not so good a mood) on the road. This should be a fun one.
Four of the Cowboys’ five games have been played at night with the one outlier being a Week 2 matchup with Tulsa. Oklahoma State comes in 5-0 and Texas is 4-2. Mike Gundy is 5-2 in Austin during his 16 years at the helm.
