Oklahoma State Unveiling Remember The 4 Memorial on Thursday
Oklahoma State is set to unveil a Remember The 4 memorial on Thursday afternoon at 3 p.m. in remembrance of former OSU women’s head coach Kurt Budke, assistant coach Miranda Serna, and OSU supporters Olin and Paula Branstetter.
The four individuals died in a tragic plane crash on Nov. 17, 2011, during a recruiting trip in Arkansas.
“This memorial is a fitting tribute to four special people who cared a great deal about Oklahoma State,” OSU head coach Jim Littell said. “It is important they are never forgotten and having a permanent reminder is the appropriate way to honor them and their loyalty to OSU.”
The memorial will be located on the northeast side of the OSU Athletics Center and highlighted by images of the four individuals. The forms are arranged in a perfect square, symbolizing the completion of four unique lives, according to a press release from Oklahoma State.
Each lighted panel also features an in memoriam script provided by the respective families of those who passed.
