The Cowboys wrestled a solid Lehigh club on Sunday in Stillwater and but were still able to move to 10-0 on the season with relative ease. The 26-9 decision ended a four-match dual win streak by the Mountain Hawks.

The dual opened up at 125 with Trevor Mastrogiovanni taking on Jaret Lane. Mastro had some struggles on bottom, but continued his winning ways with a 5-1 decision over Lane.

Daton Fix took on Malyke Hines at 133 in one of the ranked matchups of the dual. Hines is a solid wrestler that should qualify for the NCAA tournament. Fix made quick work of Hines with a 1:34 fall.

In one of the more exciting bouts of the dual, Carter Young edged Connor McGonagle. Young got a late takedown and rideout to erase McGonagle’s riding time and win 5-4.

Kaden Gfeller continued OSU’s momentum with a 5-1 decision over Paul Watkins before the Cowboys lost their first two bouts of the dual at 157 and 165.

In one of the higher-ranked matchups of the dual, Josh Humphreys controlled Wyatt Sheets with an 8-3 decision. This was followed by a 2-0 decision for Brian Meyer over Jalin Harper at 165. Harper was filling in for an injured Travis Wittlake.

Dustin Plott got Oklahoma State back on the winning side with a 5-3 decision over Jake Logan then Dakota Geer dominated AJ Burkhart 23-10. This locked up the dual for the Cowboys.

At 197, AJ Ferrari snagged another bonus point win with a 12-2 major decision over JT Davis.

In the final bout of the night, Lehigh’s Jordan Wood grabbed a takedown at the end of the first period and another in the second to go up 5-0 over Luke Surber. Surber was massively undersized vs. Wood and unable to escape the entire match. Wood went on to win 6-0 with riding time.

The Cowboys double up in Stillwater next weekend with Northern Iowa and Iowa State. Iowa State has emerged as the second-best program in the Big 12 this season and could provide a very interesting test for the Cowboys on Sunday.
