OSU Baseball: Cowboys Look to Rebound in DeLand Regional
As the pinnacle of college golf comes to a close, the 2018 NCAA Division I Baseball Championship begins. And for the sixth time in as many years under coach Josh Holliday, Oklahoma State’s baseball team finds itself in the field.
After a hot streak that saw OSU at the top of the Big 12, the Cowboys faltered late, losing seven of eight and their final six games including an 0-2 showing in the Big 12 Tournament.
But now they are headed to Florida for a chance to make things right in the DeLand Regional, which includes host Stetson, South Florida and Hartford. Here’s what you need to know in terms of game times and the bracket.
The Cowboys will face South Florida at noon Friday. If they win, they’ll play the winner of top-seeded Stetson and fourth-seeded Hartford on Saturday night at 6. You can click here to look at the official bracket.
It’s a double-elimination tournament, so one loss wouldn’t end OSU’s season. It would, however, make the path to the Regional Championship more treacherous.
The two losers of the first-round games will play Saturday at noon. Whoever wins that game would be left with little room for error, as they would have three more games if they want to triumph as 2018 DeLand Regional Champions.
