Breaking home run records at Oklahoma State is no easy task.

Pete Incaviglia has the program’s record for home runs in a season (48) and a career (100) — records that would take a lot to even sniff. But Nolan Schubart on Tuesday night took Incaviglia’s name off the triple crown of homer records, as Schubart hit four in Oklahoma State’s 21-6 win against Wichita State.

OSU’s single-game record had been 3 — something that has happened on 18 occasions and was first done by Incaviglia in 1985.

Schubart finished the game a ridiculous 5-for-5 with four runs scored, seven RBIs and a double for good measure.

As a team, the Cowboys hit nine home runs en route to their 21-run tally. OSU has scored double-digit runs in its past five games. In OSU’s past four, it has scored 61 runs and hit 22 home runs.

OSU is 31-14 this season and still has a shot at winning the Big 12. The Cowboys enter the weekend with a 14-7 record in the league — a game back of Oklahoma. OSU travels to Austin this weekend for a series against Texas before series against Texas Tech (home) and Houston (road) to close out the regular season.
