OSU Climbs to No. 15 in Second Weekly CFP Ranking
The Cowboys make a big jump after beating Texas Tech.
Oklahoma State climbed eight spots to No. 15 in the second ranking put out by the College Football Playoff committee.
The Cowboys, who were ranked 19th in this week’s AP top 25 and 18th in the coaches poll, are the lowest of three Big 12 teams appearing in the ranking. But before we get into the local teams (that won’t be in the playoff), let’s take a look at what the Final Four would look like if the season were over today.
No. 1 Alabama vs. No. 4 Ohio State
No. 2 Notre Dame vs. No. 3 Clemson
Even in a year a strange as 2020, I could have penciled three of the four in last January.
Back to the Big 12, Iowa State made it all the way up to No. 9 from 13 after bouncing Texas from 17 all the way out of the ranking. Oklahoma remained at 11th while unable to build its resume due to a COVID off week.
In other local news, Tulsa is up one spot to 24.
Here’s the full CFP ranking from Tuesday night.
