Oklahoma State announced on Wednesday that its homecoming football game for 2018 will be on Oct. 27 when the Texas Longhorns come to town. It is the fifth conference game on the 2018 schedule, and follows up the bye week after a road trip to the Little Apple.

Date Opponent
Sept. 1 Missouri State
Sept. 8 South Alabama
Sept. 15 Boise State
Sept. 22 Texas Tech
Sept. 29 at Kansas
Oct. 6 Iowa State
Oct. 13 at Kansas State
Oct. 20 Bye week
Oct. 27 Texas (Homecoming)
Nov. 3 at Baylor
Nov. 10 at Oklahoma
Nov. 17 West Virginia
Nov. 24 at TCU
Dec. 1 Big 12 title game

OSU is 9-4 in homecoming games under Mike Gundy dating back to his first year, and 6-1 since 2011 — the lone loss coming in a dreadful 2014 season. So this is a definite plus for OSU in 2018, which will be looking to replace the production of Mason Rudolph and James Washington.

Here’s a look at how OSU has fared in homecoming games through the years under the mulleted man himself. Interestingly enough, OSU has only hosted Texas for homecoming once since 2005 — a 47-28 loss in 2005 — the year Vince Young lead the Longhorns to a 13-0 record and a national championship.

Year Opponent Outcome Final Score
2005 Texas L 47-28
2006 Texas A&M L 34-33 (OT)
2007 K-State W 41-39
2008 Baylor W 34-6
2009 Missouri W 33-17
2010 Nebraska L 51-41
2011 Baylor W 59-24
2012 Iowa State W 31-10
2013 TCU W 24-10
2014 West Virginia L 34-10
2015 Kansas W 58-10
2016 West Virginia W 37-20
2017 Baylor W 59-16
