OSU Has Second-Best Odds to Win the Big 12 Title This Season
At 1-2, OU still the favorite to win the Big 12 crown.
The conference’s helmet sticker schools have both taken bad early Ls, with Texas and Oklahoma each sitting at 1-2 in league play. But that has done little to dissuade odds makers from betting on at least one name brand.
Sportsbook BetOnline.ag released updated conference title odds for each league on Thursday and the Big 12’s bell-cow remains at the top.
Oklahoma — 7/4
Iowa State — 3/1
Oklahoma State — 3/1
Texas — 15/4
Kansas State — 10/1
TCU — 20/1
West Virginia — 20/1
Baylor — 33/1
Oklahoma is just going to be penciled in as the fave until history stops repeating itself (or until OU gets outscored by 21-3 in the fourth quarter by TCU this weekend), but the two teams with next-best odds will face off this weekend.
At 2-0 and 3-0 respectively, Oklahoma State and Iowa State — along with Kansas State — are still undefeated in Big 12 play. That will change on Saturday. OSU is the only conference team without a blemish on its 2020 slate.
Before you get too up in arms about these odds, it’s still very early and OSU is relatively untested. But the good news is that the Cowboys have a clear path on the road to Arlington, while the perennial King of the League has plenty of ground to cover to catch up.
