OSU Hoops Target Julius Marble Commits to Michigan State
Marble is a 2019 hoops prospect who will be a freshman next season.
Oklahoma State hoops target Julius Marble made his long awaited college commitment Sunday, picking the Michigan State Spartans over OSU and Illinois.
Marble, a 6-8, 225 pound power forward from Dallas, is rated as a three-star prospect. Many — myself included — figured OSU was second in the pecking order to Sparty, who, along with Tom Izzo, made a spirited effort to get his commitment over the last few weeks.
Marble got the full-court press from OSU’s staff, too, but MSU was lucky enough to get a visit, which ultimately sealed the deal for him. OSU did not garner a visit, though Mike Boynton made a trip to see him in person.
“The atmosphere was just crazy,” said Marble of why he picked Michigan State (via 247). “It really made me want to be out there competing and being a part of the team. I just wanted to put a jersey on and get on the floor and help the guys win.”
OSU is still recruiting 6-9, 220 pound big man Doudou Gueye from Daytona State to potentially fill the spot Marble would have. Four-star Christian Brown and five-star Isaiah Todd are also on the board and in the discussion to take a scholarship, too.
