OSU in the Mix for Top 132-Pound Prospect Ridge Lovett

Ridge Lovett, one of the top 132-pound high school wrestlers in the country, has Oklahoma State on his short list of prospective destinations.

Lovett, the soon-to-be senior out of Post Falls, Idaho, told Flowrestling he’s making final visits to OSU and four other programs this fall. Flo currently has him ranked second at 132 pounds with Intermat listing him as still at 126 and ranking him 11th. He won Fargo in Greco this summer and finished second in the freestyle tournament. He was also a Greco World Team member last year. Here’s one of his matches there.

This size is a need for the Cowboys. Right now they have Daton Fix, Jet Taylor, and Kaden Gfeller, all about to enter their redshirt freshman seasons. They also have juniors Nick Piccininni, Kaid Brock, and Boo Lewallen along with senior Mike Magaldo filling out the lower weights. So they’re pretty stacked there for the next two seasons.

When that group of juniors graduate OSU need to fill those gaps and bringing in Lovett would give him an opportunity to redshirt behind that bunch then potentially enter the lineup as a redshirt freshman alongside the combination of Fix, Taylor, and Gfeller.

Lovett states he’ll be at 149 in college. Sliding him in the lineup with Fix/Taylor at 125, Fix/Taylor at 133, Gfeller at 141, and Lovett at 149 would make for a pretty stout group of lower weights.
