It’s been a breakout week for Class of 2022 defensive end recruit Curlee Thomas, who on Thursday announced Oklahoma State has joined Baylor and Kansas among Big 12 programs to extend him a scholarship this week.

Thomas is a 6-foot-4, 232-pound edge rusher from Fort Worth (Nolan Catholic High School). He played his sophomore season at Keller’s Fossil Ridge before transferring, where he earned Defensive Newcomer of the Year honors in his district and classification.

Thomas announced the offer on social media, saying he had a “heart to heart conversation” with OSU defensive line coach (and former OSU star) Greg Richmond.

At a school with better visibility, Thomas is a recruit likely to blow up in national recruiting circles this summer and in his junior season. Last year as a sophomore standout on varsity he recorded 42 tackles, seven tackles for loss and three sacks, showing himself to be a dynamic disruptor off the edge.

Perhaps an example of how OSU views Thomas, he is one of just six defensive end offers in the 2022 class and one of only four who plays on the weak side.

The offer sets OSU up to pitch a potential package deal for Thomas and his new teammate, Emeka Megwa, who stars as Nolan Catholic’s running back. Megwa was offered by OSU last summer and has 30+ scholarship offers from the likes of Alabama, Georgia, USC and others.
