OSU LB Target Mason Cobb Set to Make Commitment, Sign Wednesday
Cobb is deciding Wednesday between Louisville and OSU.
After a multi-day trip in Stillwater visiting the facilities, meeting with coaches, checking out academics, seeing what the town has to offer, Class of 2020 linebacker Mason Cobb says he’s ready to make his commitment.
Cobb, who visited OSU over the weekend, announced on Sunday that he intends to make his college commitment and signing official on Wednesday, the first day of the early December signing period. He’ll be choosing between OSU and Louisville based on his picture posted over the weekend.

Cobb made official visits to both finalists over the last two weeks, but it was OSU that landed the all-important final visit, during which it appears the staff made quite an impression. Cobb was joined by nearly all of OSU’s 2020 recruiting class on campus, a coordinated effort to try and make him feel at home ahead of his decision.

Cobb was one of only two non-commits on OSU’s campus over the weekend, joining fellow 2020 linebacker Krishon Merriweather, a junior college prospect from Garden City who is also expected to sign early. Merriweather picked up an Arkansas offer over the weekend and is considering OSU along with the Hogs and Texas Tech.
Where Cobb and Merriweather end up remains a mystery, but OSU has positioned itself well to land Cobb it appears. The Provo, Utah linebacker — 6-foot-1, 220 pounds — was long pegged to stay out on the west coast before Louisville and OSU got involved late. With fellow Utah native Nicolas Session joining the Pokes this last month, it’s possible that connection could play a factor as he prepares to make his commitment on Wednesday.
