The Cowboys’ new coaching staff appears to be making some in-roads within the state.

Bryson Brown, a 2027 cornerback playing for Broken Arrow, cut his prospective schools down to 12 and the Pokes are still in the mix.

Along with the Cowboys, Brown is still considering Ohio State, Penn State, Kansas, Arkansas, Missouri, UCLA, Kentucky, Nebraska, Purdue and Vanderbilt.

The 5-foot-11, 175-pound speedster has been on the Cowboys’ radar for some time, along with two dozen other schools. Brown is currently rated as a three-star prospect according to 247Sports’ Composite ranking, the No. 11 recruit in the state of Oklahoma and the No. 38 safety in the nation.

As a target, Brown is a holdover from the past regime. Mike Gundy’s staff offered him back in February, but a staff change does not seem to have deterred his interest in staying in-state. Oklahoma also offered Brown but did not make the cut.

A two-sport athlete who also competes in track and field won a state title at Owasso in 2024. Brown then made the move to Broken Arrow this past year as a junior. The Tigers made it to the 6A-I semifinals before falling to the eventual state champs, the Bixby Spartans and OSU pledge Braeden Presley.

Take a peek at Brown’s junior season highlights.
