Three-star defensive line prospect Keviyan Huddleston, a 6-foot-4, 235-pound talent from Tyler, Texas, announced on Monday that he’s trimmed his list from 15 to seven and included OSU along with three other Big 12 schools in his final list.

The Cowboys made the cut along with Kansas State, TCU and Texas Tech. UTSA, Arkansas and Prairie View A&M also made the cut. La. Tech, Arizona and SMU were among those who were cut from his list.

Huddleston, a 2023 talent rated in the Composite as the No. 573 player nationally, was offered by OSU back in February — part of a breakout month for him that included offers from TCU, ULM and North Texas.

OSU’s 2023 class is lacking in overall depth thus far — only 10 players have committed to date — but that could be a big selling point for Huddleston. Only three of the 10 are currently committed to play along the defensive line. And Huddleston profiles more as an edge, a position that right now is taken by only one commitment in South Oak Cliff’s Billy Walton.

Coming off a big junior season, Huddleston is likely to rise in the recruiting rankings over the next few months and into his senior season after a sensation 2021-22 year in which he totaled 26 tackles and five sacks. His versatility is appealing as well, as he plays basketball on top of football and even spent time playing offensive tackle when on the gridiron.
