OSU Offers Blossoming 2022 Running Back Ollie Gordon

Gordon went off in a playoff game against the Green twins.

Ollie Gordon ended the high school careers of Cowboy signees Bryson and Blaine Green, and now the Cowboys are after him.

Gordon announced an Oklahoma State offer Sunday afternoon. Gordon is a running back from Trinity High in Euless, Texas.

Who Is He?

Gordon played the Green twins in the regional round of the Texas 6A-1 playoffs, where Gordon had a ridiculous 50 rushes for 460 yards and six touchdowns.

Gordon’s Trinity squad won that game 49-45 before falling in the quarterfinal round of the playoffs.

He is listed at 6-foot-1, 210 pounds having just finished his junior season.

Gordon was his district’s Offensive Newcomer of the Year as a sophomore in 2019, where he ran for 679 yards and 11 touchdowns.

As a junior this past season, Gordon had 209 carries for 2,083 yards and 28 scores. He also had a pair of receiving touchdowns.

In the Rankings

Despite his gaudy numbers in high-level high school football, Gordon is still an underappreciated recruit in terms of rankings.

He is the No. 745 prospect in the 2022 class and is listed as the No. 67 running back. Rivals and 247Sports each list him as a three-star prospect.

Others Involved

A good thing about Gordon not being too highly touted a recruit is that OSU is in before the blueblood programs get involved.

Gordon does still have an impressive offer list that includes Iowa State, Texas Tech, TCU, Missouri, SMU, Kansas, Utah and Washington State.

OSU and 2022 RBs

The Cowboys have a pair of early commits in 2022, and one is a presumed running back.

OSU picked up a commitment from Beggs standout CJ Brown in October. Brown is listed as an athlete on recruiting sites, but he has listed OSU running backs coach John Wozniak in his social media posts.

Taking multiple running backs in a class isn’t unheard of by any means, but it’s just an interesting note.
