OSU Recruiting: Cowboys Offer 2019 Small Forward, Pair of 2020 PG’s
In addition to a new offer to 2018 power forward Maurice Calloo, the Cowboy coaching staff is also preparing for 2019 and beyond with new offers of note this week to a point guard and a small forward.
The first of those went to 6-foot-7 small forward Ishan White, a 2019 prospect from South Carolina. According to VerbalCommits.com, White’s OSU offer is his fifth, to go along with offers from Winthrop, South Carolina State, Stetson and Presbyterian.
White averaged 11.2 points, 9.8 rebounds and 1.3 blocks per game as a junior last season.

The second of the new offers this week was to 2020 point guard prospects Gerald Doakes and Davonte Davis, teammates on Woodz Elite’s 16U AAU squad, according to Kevin McPherson. OSU offered Chris Moore, which we wrote on earlier this week.

Doakes is a three-star, 6-1, 160-pound prospect from Arkansas who has offers from the Razorbacks, Florida, SMU, TCU and Texas A&M. He made a visit to Oklahoma State last November one week before the start of the regular season.

Davis, meanwhile is an unranked 6-2, 150-pound 2020 point guard. He has offers from Arkansas, SMU, Abilene Christian and Southern Miss.
Doakes and Davis are the seventh and eighth point guard offers in the 2020 class, and they are particularly noteworthy because OSU’s pursuit of in-state star Rondel Walker out of Oklahoma City.
Many believe Walker will give OSU a serious look if — and when — his stock rises as a recruit, so adding Doakes and Davis into the fold as targets could mean OSU is preparing to try and take two ball-handlers in 2020, potentially with the hope of shifting one to a combo guard who is multi-positional at the next level.
