OSU Rocking Special Remember the 10 Shooting Shirts vs. South Carolina
A look back and a look ahead from the vantage point of today’s honoring of the 10.
Oklahoma State maybe hasn’t been very good at hoops over the last decade, but they’ve certainly been great at remembering the 10 men who died in January 2001 in a plane crash from Colorado back to Oklahoma.
Every year, it seems, they pay a touching tribute to everything that happened and in doing so honor the folks who passed and their families who are still alive. This year was no different as the Pokes rocked the shooting shirts you see above before Saturday’s tilt against South Carolina in GIA.
That wasn’t the only thing, though. South Carolina chimed in, as well, and OSU put out some really cool videos from that first game back as well as Victor Williams and Ivan McFarland talking about that fateful night and their experience thereafter.

One of the many things that make this a special place and program… The way we unite and honor one another. Look forward to the opportunity to be do that today for The10. Should be a great atmosphere inside GIA. See you at 1pm. #RT10 #C2E

The video here is astonishing. I wasn’t there, but I remember that game. To hear Mike Noteware and Larry Reece talk about that that group — Melvin Sanders, Fred Jonzen, McFarlin, Williams and Mo Baker — meant is to go down the deepest rabbit hole. That was an amazing team and that played maybe the most important game in Gallagher-Iba Arena history.
"I think our crowd wouldn't let us lose that night."
Just days after the tragedy the #okstate family came together and helped the Cowboys pull off a huge win over Missouri. OSU's @cowboyvoice & @Mike_Noteware look back at that incredible night in GIA. #RT10 pic.twitter.com/IPzt2Hl9D3
