OSU Signee Brendon Evers Admits His Family Is Full of OU Fans
Bixby (Oklahoma) defensive tackle Brendon Evers committed to Oklahoma State early in the recruiting process last March. Despite recruitment of other top prospects nationally, which many times can see multiple decommitments during a process, Evers stayed loyal to the Cowboys. Even with his family having a fandom of a different in-state school.
“My whole family is OU fans,” Evers told the Tulsa World after signing with OSU. “At first it was weird, but they’re happy for me that I get to go to college and live my dream.”
While it may have been weird at the beginning, it didn’t take long for OSU and Mike Gundy to sell Evers’ family on the atmosphere and the perfect fit their son would have at OSU.
“I was a little skeptical,” Evers’ father Jim said. “But once we met coach Gundy and saw how family-oriented they were, we thought it was a good fit. We’re OSU fans from now on.”
Just another day in the life of Mike Gundy. Winning over OU fans one day at a time.
