Can the Cowgirls bounce back after a slightly down 2025? We’ll find out starting in less than two months.

Oklahoma State released its 2026 softball schedule on Monday, and it’s going to be a tough slate.

It might seem weird to call it a bounce-back with the Cowgirls coming off a 35-20 season and their ninth-straight regional appearance. But that just speaks to the level of success the program experiences under coach Kenny Gajewski.

After making each of the last six Women’s College World Series, the Cowgirls fell in the Fayetteville Regional in 2025. Their 13-9 Big 12 record and fourth-place finish were also their worst since Gajewski’s first season in 2016.

Things won’t be any easier this spring. Of the 53 scheduled contests, 34 are against teams that finished 2025 inside the Top 75 in RPI last season. The Cowgirls will face a 2025 tournament team in 26 games.

OSU starts out in Palo Alto, California, in the Stanford Invitation Feb. 5-7 with matchups against San Jose State, California and Stanford. The season-opener against The Cardinal will be the first game played at the new Stanford Softball Stadium.

A week later, the Cowgirls will head to Clearwater, Florida to take part in the 2026 Shriners Children’s Clearwater Invitational to compete with the likes of Georgia, LSU, Texas A&M, UCLA and Duke. It will be OSU’s third consecutive season to take part in the event and fifth-straight year playing in an Invitational in Clearwater (TaxAct Clearwater Regional).

OSU will also take part in the River State Classic in San Marcos, Texas, and will host the OSU/Tulsa Invitational. The Cowgirls start a stacked Big 12 slate March 6-8 with a visit from UCF.
