It didn’t take long for the Cowgirls to prove they’re a top-10 softball team.

Oklahoma State appeared in the top 10 of every major poll this week after starting the season 5-0 this past weekend. The major polls from ESPN.com/USA Softball and USA Today/NFCA Coaches Poll have OSU at No. 8 and No. 6, respectively.

Here’s a look at where OSU appeared in every poll.

  • No. 4 in the D1Softball Top 25
  • No. 6 in the USA Today/NFCA DI Top 25 Coaches Poll
  • No. 8 in the ESPN.com/USA Softball Collegiate Top 25
  • No. 10 in the Softball America College Top 25

Most of the Cowgirls’ jump was boosted by a 9-1 run-rule win over No. 10 UCLA on Sunday. OSU also beat Cal State Northridge, Loyola Marymount, Utah State and UC Riverside during their opening weekend in California. Loyola Marymount was the only team the Cowgirls didn’t run rule.

OSU will compete in the Shriners Children’s Clearwater Invitational in Clearwater, Florida, this weekend. Action for that will start with a matchup against No. 4 Georgia at 9 a.m. Friday. The Cowgirls won’t be in Stillwater until Feb. 27 when they host South Dakota State for a doubleheader.
