The Cowgirls were firing on all cylinders as they clinched their first Big 12 series win.

No. 23/21 Oklahoma State defeated BYU 10-0 in five innings off a walk-off three-run homer by Lexi McDonald in the bottom of the fifth. The Cowgirls’ bats have been hot all weekend, but Ruby Meylan showed she had the stuff to shut teams out in consecutive days.

After allowing just one hit in five scoreless innings on Thursday, the Cowgirls’ ace pitched a perfect game. In five innings she allowed no hits, walks errors or base runners and struck out six BYU batters.

Things got going early on offense for the Cowgirls with Tia Warsop (2-for-3) and Rosie Davis (2-for-3) each hitting solo home runs in OSU’s first two at-bats, part of a five-run first.

Aubrey Jones grounded out for a run in the second, and Warsop added an RBI in the third. Then Lexi sealed it with this walk-off bomb over the right-field wall.

With the win, the Cowgirls improve to 21-9 on the season and 4-4 in Big 12 play. After dropping their first two conference series to two ranked teams in UCF and Arizona State, they’ll go for the series sweep over the Cougars at 12 p.m. Saturday in Cowgirls Stadium.
