OSU Star Safety Jason Taylor II Announces NFL Combine Invite

Jason Taylor’s journey to the NFL is off to a good start.
Taylor, an All-American safety at Oklahoma State in 2022, announced Thursday night that he received an invite to the NFL Combine. This year’s combine will last from Feb. 26 to March 6 in Indianapolis.
Taylor led Oklahoma State with six interceptions, 99 total tackles and 80 solo tackles. He finished his OSU career with 175 total tackles, 10 tackles for loss, 2.5 sacks and eight interceptions.
He had a knack for finding the ball in big moments. He scored twice in 2020, returning an onside kick for a score against Texas Tech and a game-winning 85-yard fumble return against Kansas State.
Perhaps Taylor’s biggest play came in OSU’s Fiesta Bowl-winning 2021 season when he had an 85-yard interception return for a touchdown against Texas in Austin. The Longhorns were threatening to go up 24-3 in the first half when Taylor made the play. OSU ended up coming back to win the game 32-24.
A Longhorn killer, Taylor had a pair of INTs against Texas in 2022 as well.
Taylor came to Oklahoma State as a three-star prospect from Carl Albert in the 2018 class, picking the Pokes over offers from Memphis and Tulsa.
Oklahoma State has had 35 players taken in the NFL Draft under Mike Gundy. Taylor could join a good group of defensive backs to be taken in the Gundy era, a group that includes Perrish Cox (2010), Justin Gilbert (2014), Tre Flowers (2018) and Rodarius Williams (2021). This year’s draft takes place April 27-29 in Las Vegas.
