OSU Unranked in Latest AP Top 25; No. 23 in Coaches Poll

Predictably, walloping Missouri State didn’t earn the Cowboys much respect in the polls.

Oklahoma State took a step up to No. 23 in the Amway Coaches poll, two spots above its preseason debut of 25th. That puts the Cowboys just behind winless counterparts Miami (No. 21) and Michigan (No. 22).

An apparently-overrated Hurricanes team lost 33-17 to LSU and the Wolverines were short a touchdown, being bested by their rival Notre Dame 24-17. However, both of their opponents are in a different league (literally) than OSU’s Week 1 FCS opponent Missouri State.

No. 5 — Oklahoma
No. 16 — TCU
No. 17 — West Virginia

The Cowboys were once again left out of the AP top 25. After being the last of the first four out in its preseason poll, Oklahoma State is now second out, receiving 62 votes in AP, which effectively puts it at No. 27.

The AP does have the same three conference foes of OSU in its list.

No. 6 — Oklahoma
No. 14 — West Virginia
No. 16 — TCU

The Longhorns (preseason No. 23 by the AP) have disappeared off the face of the poll after suffering their yearly Week 1 loss to Maryland.

Here’s a look at the full AP top 25.
