With Senior Day and Bedlam both falling on the same day, the class of 2024 will be honored for everything they did while at Oklahoma State, but there’s also something to be celebrated that they’ve never done: lost to OU.

OSU hosts the Sooners for the second Bedlam of the season at 2 p.m. Sunday inside Gallagher-Iba Arena. Before the dual starts, though, a group of seniors will be honored. Seniors listed on OSU’s roster includes Daton Fix, Sammy Alvarez, Dustin Plott, Andrew Bloemhof, Jalin Harper, Daniel Manibog, Izzak Olejnik, Joey Sanchez and Reece Witcraft.

In college sports today, seniors come in all kinds of varieties. For instance, Fix graduated from Charles Page High School in Sand Springs in 2017, while Witcraft graduated from Broken Arrow High in 2019, yet, after redshirts, COVID and Olympic quests, the two are part of the same class at OSU.

But even with a senior like Fix who has been around the program since the 2017-18 season, this group of OSU seniors has never lost to in-state rival OU in their careers, as the Cowboys are riding an 18-dual winning streak in Bedlam going back to the 2013-14 season. If the Cowboys win Sunday, OSU’s 2024 class would become the sixth straight set of seniors to have never lost to OU in their careers.

Fix, in particular, has never even lost to an OU wrestler in his career, whether that be in duals or at tournaments.

“I appreciate every opportunity I get to wrestle, but Bedlam’s important, especially in wrestling and for us,” Fix said. “We want to win every single time. We have a great record all-time in Bedlam. If we could win every Bedlam from here on out, then we’d want to do that. It’s always a big dual for us two times a year. It’s one that we have circled every year, and this one’s no different.”
