OSU’s Loss to Tech 7th as Double-Digit Favorite Since 2010

About once a year since 2010, Oklahoma State will lose a game it’s supposed to win by at least 10.

Saturday’s 41-17 loss to Texas Tech was the Cowboys seventh loss to a double-digit dog since 2010, according to Odds Shark. OSU has lost 12 games as favorites during that span.

The Tech game was the first time in the past eight years that the Cowboys didn’t score at least 20 points in a game they were favored by more than 10. It was also the biggest point differential of those games.

The biggest upset came in 2011 when the 10-0 Cowboys fell as a 27-point favorite to Iowa State in Ames.

More recently, OSU’s 45-40 loss to Kansas State at home last season came when the Cowboys were favored by 20. The Cowboys nearly lost two games in which they were favored by at least 10 last season, but according to Odds Shark, OSU was favored by 9.5 against TCU.

The Cowboys did lose twice to 10-point underdogs in 2013 with losses to West Virginia (-19.5) and Oklahoma (-10).
