PFB+: An Update on Hauss Hejny’s Status
Hejny suffered a Jones fracture.
STILLWATER — It’s never a good thing when parents get called to the locker room during games, but that doesn’t mean Jesse Hejny was prepared for what his son, Hauss Hejny, would be like following his first-quarter injury on Thursday.
“Hauss just feels horrible about (not being healthy for) the team and just everything else, man,” Jesse Hejny said. “He’s just like, you know, ‘We, we prepared so hard.’ He and that whole team put so much into the season, and he’s just like, he just feels like he let everybody down. … I don’t think I’ve ever seen a human more destroyed than what he was, man, he just felt, he’s just like apologizing to us about it. I’m like, ‘don’t apologize to us.’”
Hauss’ dad told PFB that it didn’t take long to confirm the extent of his injury. His son suffered a Jones fracture, a break in the bone on the outside edge of the foot between the pinky toe and the heel.
