PFB Picks: Predictions for OSU-Texas Tech

Our staff is optimistic at OSU begins conference play.

The Cowboys kick off Big 12 play in a twilight tilt with the visiting Red Raiders. If history tells us anything, points will be plentiful, strange things can happen and no lead is safe.

Will the Pokes be able to make it 10-straight against the Raiders? Here’s how the PFB team sees things shaking out.

Kyle Porter: Oklahoma State 45 | Texas Tech 37 — A typical Oklahoma State-Texas Tech game in Stillwater. I think OSU comes back down to earth a bit after that insane performance last week. Next time OSU loses 10 straight to an opponent, Tech fans will claim they invented that.

Kyle Boone: Oklahoma State 56| Texas Tech 17 — The hype surrounding Tech’s QB turns out to be gravely overstated, only because OSU’s defense officially proves it can win against the Red Raiders without going shootout style.

Kyle Cox: Oklahoma State 42 | Texas Tech 31 — I think the Cowboys handle business at home with a score late by Tech to make things appear more interesting than they were. Alan Bowman has put up huge numbers in two career starts but Lamar ≅ Missouri State. This will be his toughest by far and I think the OSU defense builds upon a statement stifling of Boise.

Marshall Scott: Oklahoma State 45 | Texas Tech 35 — I can honestly see this game going a lot of different ways, but I think the OSU defense will be able to rattle freshman quarterback Alan Bowman enough to get the win.

Grant Newton: Oklahoma State 52 | Texas Tech 38 — Watching the Tech defense makes me think Hill might go for 250-plus.

Dustin Ragusa: Oklahoma State 51 | Texas Tech 33 — On the offensive side, I think Justice Hill goes for around 150 and a couple touchdowns and Taylor Cornelius finishes another game with no turnovers. The Cowboy defense will hold the Red Raider offense under 30 until a late game touchdown and finish with a couple forced turnovers. OSU pretty much controls this one from the start and it never really feels close after the first quarter.
