Picks, Point Spread, Preview: What to Know for Bedlam Round 2

Buckle up, it’s Bedlam. (Part two.)

Remember that one time, in Bedlam, when Cade Cunningham dropped 40 points and led Oklahoma State from down double digits to overtime victors in Norman?

Oh, yeah, I remember.

It was Saturday.

Fortunately for us, that gem-of-a-game is getting run back Monday night inside the old barn, as Oklahoma comes to Stillwater looking for some revenge.

Here is what to know ahead of the game.

Picks

• Spread (KenPom): OSU -2

Marshall Scott: Logic would say since OSU won on the road, it should win this game at home. Logic isn’t always applied in Bedlam or this pandemic, but I still think the Cowboys will get a series sweep. The Pokes need to figure out how to better defend OU’s dribble hand-offs, and I’m not sure the Pokes can rely on another 40-piece from Cade. However, I think Boynton’s Pokes find a way to start March with a W.

Prediction: Oklahoma State 74, Oklahoma 69

Kyle Boone: OSU was an underdog on the road Saturday before Cade went and dropped an all-timer to help guide the Pokes to a win for the record books. In this one, OSU is the favorite by two points. So yeah, I’m gonna bet on another toss-up based on what we saw Saturday. Here’s the difference: I’m pretty sure Cade doesn’t go hamburger like he did last game (right…?), so I’m gonna hedge my heart and take OU in a tight one. Unless he just makes it a point to follow up a legendary showing with another legendary showing — which, mind you, is very possible! — then OU might be able to get some road revenge.

Prediction: Oklahoma 71, Oklahoma State 67

Kyle Cox: I like the Cowboys tonight, and I like them to cover. Momentum is a real thing in sports, especially games like this, and the Cowboys and Cade have it. OSU’s supernova will be playing his final game on Eddie Sutton Court, and I don’t think that’s lost on him or his teammates. Cade also knows that even more eyes are on him after Saturday’s explosion, and that the stage is set for him to rattle off a week of all-timers. Remember that week that Cade torched the Big 12’s top teams? That’s what we’ll be saying when he makes his third NBA All-Star team.

Give me another heart-pounding thriller down the stretch, but my money’s on the superstar with a point to prove.

Prediction: Oklahoma State 78, Oklahoma 75
