Oklahoma State is favored by 28 points at most sportsbooks in Saturday’s homecoming game against Kansas, but Mike Gundy this week said he’s expecting it to be a game that goes down to the fourth quarter because, well, by law every OSU game must come down to the fourth quarter.

Don’t fact check me on that.

I’m right.

We’re just not so sure it applies to this game. KU pushed OU good last weekend, but the Jayhawks have for the most part struggled all season. With OSU’s defense playing well and the offense showing life in Ames, we like its chances of putting on a show Saturday. Here are our predictions for the game.

Marshall Scott

Score prediction: Oklahoma State 40, Kansas 13

Thoughts: To start, Kansas stinks. I think Lance Leipold was a great hire, but no one would be able to turn things around this quickly. Then, I think, any trap-game element to this was thrown out the window when OSU lost in Ames last weekend. I expect the Cowboys to look to prove a point at Kansas’ expense.

Kyle Boone

Score prediction: Oklahoma State 40, Kansas 21

Thoughts: This feels like it will be a get-right spot for the OSU offense. Only twice all season have they scored in the 30s and it for the most part has been a slog to get things going. KU feels like a great opportunity to get things going. I expect the offense comes out firing on all cylinders to build an early lead and the defense looks great early. The final score isn’t convincing but the result is never in doubt.

Kyle Cox

Score prediction: Oklahoma State 42, Kansas 9

Thoughts: I just don’t see Oklahoma State allowing Kansas to find pay dirt. Last week was in aberration and OU sleepwalked into Lawrence. And last week was a knuckle-sandwich that knocked the Pokes on their heels, but also got their attention. I think the lowly Jayhawks come in a little too high on themselves and the Cowboys come in a little too pissed off. I predict a season-high score and a season-low allowed from OSU on Saturday.
