Poll Question Tuesday: Who Should Oklahoma State be Playing at Point Guard?
Brandon Averette has started the last few games for Oklahoma State at point guard in place of Kendall Smith. He has also played more minutes and clearly been Mike Boynton’s go-to guy during crunch time.
It’s an interesting decision. Smith is the more experienced and presumably “better” player, but it seems like Averette is the guy for now. I’m curious about what you guys think, though.
Which player gives OSU a better chance to win? Smith and his length and ability to get to the rim and shoot it a little bit or Averette and his lock-down defense and slicing tendencies offensively?
Texas coach Shaka Smart voted Averette after he had 11 points, 3 rebounds and 1 assist against the Horns on Saturday.
“Averette was a problem for us, and they also made some key plays not just in the last six, seven minutes but, earlier in the second half to keep them within striking distance,” said Smart. “So you gotta take your hat off to them. ”
As always, leave your comments and thoughts below, and we will follow up later in the week with the results.
Which of these players gives #okstate a better chance to win at point guard?
