Homework:
A&M hammered hapless OU on Saturday in Norman on Saturday which isn’t saying much but as we’ve learned, a win on the road in the Big XII is what we thought it was: very difficult. They don’t have many players you’re probably familiar with except for B.J. Holmes who is, unquestionably, the Gabe Lindsey of Texas A&M basketball. They’re solid though and they don’t lose at home. They’ve only lost 7 home games since Turgeon got there four years ago.

OSU is playing with house money in this game. K-State wasn’t exactly a matchup they circled on their calendars back in October as one of the nine wins they needed for the dance so to have that one under their belts headed down south is huge. In fact, truth be told, Ford probably would have been happy with one of the first three against KSU, at A&M, and at Colorado. I look at this as more of a tune-up for Saturday in Boulder. If you win, awesome, you’re sitting in the driver’s seat to make the tournament. If you lose though, so what, you still got JPO and Markel their first Big XII road experience as well as Penn a ton of time running the show in a hostile environment. It’s good that they’re not playing in a game they really need (like CU) first rattle out of the box on the road.

What I’m worried about:
Khris Middleton. He’s sick, he had 31 in overtime against Arkansas and because he’s 6’7″ I don’t really know who OSU has to guard him. Is that a good matchup for Keiton, or no? I would guess Marshall would start out on him but wouldn’t be surprised to see some combination of JPO, Franklin, and Darrell. Middleton can shoot too: 50% from the field, 37% from three, and 81% from the line. OSU doesn’t really have any tall, athletic swingmen so he could be a disaster.

Two random stats that (probably) only interest me:
Oklahoma State ranks 291st in the nation in assists/game at 11.1
Texas A&M has the 2nd best rebounding margin in the country at 12.4
