Oklahoma State (9-2) welcomes the Vaqueros (6-7) who come off of a 86-65 loss at home to UT-Arlington. The schools haven’t met since before UT-Pan American merged with UT-Brownsville and became UT-Rio Grande Valley.

OSU boasts a 5-2 record against UT-Pan American, with the home team winning each game, the last of which was 96-61 blowout in GIA back in 2003. OSU and UT-Brownsville never met.

The Vaqueros are led by senior guard Nick Dixon and his WAC-leading 21.1 points per game. His backcourt mate, Xavier McDaniel Jr., is averaging 10.8 points and 6.2 rebounds and is the son of former NBA All-State Xavier McDaniel.

The Cowboys are given a 96-percent chance of winning by KenPom’s prediction, by the highest remaining on the schedule. If Boynton’s squad can take care of business heading into the Christmas weekend, it will take a 10-2 record and a three-game winning streak into its conference opener against West Virginia on December 29.
