The Reload: Gundy offers Alabama Commit, OL Planning Weekend Visit, Safety Commit Keeping Options Open
The Reload is PFB’s recruiting recap, catching you up to speed on the latest news and rumors surrounding Oklahoma State recruiting, with an ear to the ground for what to expect in the future.
Sugar Loaf’s Brother Spurns OSU
Sophomore defensive tackle Darrion Daniels, one of the highest rated defensive prospects OSU has signed in the past five years, also has a talented brother whom OSU has been recruiting. Damion Daniels, the 6-1, 315-lb. prospect from Bishop Dunne, released his top 12 schools and, somewhat surprisingly, did not include OSU in his final options.

Damion is the second younger brother to spurn OSU this year, after Mason Rudolph’s younger brother Logan, made his announcement to commit to Clemson.
OSU commit visits Arizona State
Oklahoma State’s first verbal pledge of the ’17 class, Ty Thomas, is still committed to the Cowboys but it appears he’s still keeping his options open. This past weekend, Thomas made an unofficial visit to Arizona State.
“It was great,” Thomas told Scout of his visit out West. “My interest in ASU is high and I’ve built a good relationship with the DB coach over the past few months and wanted to make the trip.”
He went on to talk a little about his commitment status with OSU, and his upcoming plans.
“I’m committed but I want to check out every school that gives me the opportunity to play for them that I have serious interest in. If there’s a decision to be made, it’ll happen later this month or early July.”
In other words, it sounds as if Thomas, although currently committed, may need to go on decommitment watch over the next month or so. Hopefully OSU is able to hold on to the 6-foot baller from Lubbock who is still being pursued by other schools and is a hot commodity recently with offers from Arkansas, UCF, West Virginia, Arizona State, SMU and Wake Forest since his commitment to OSU.
Gundy offers Alabama linebacker commit
Dodge City C.C. linebacker Gary Johnson, a 6-1 225-lb. Alabama commit reported OSU has offered a scholarship. Johnson recently pledged to the Crimson Tide and, apparently, Gundy cares not about your commitment status. He has over 20 Div. I offers and is ranked as the No. 1 inside linebacker prospect in the 2017 class.
New 2018 Hoops Offer
I broke down a full list of Underwood’s 2018 targets earlier this week and, as recruiting goes, the list is already being updated with a new offer to 2018 Florida guard Antwann Jones. Jones is a 6-5 shooting guard ranked by 247sports as the No. 31 overall prospect in the class.
Fort Lauderdale Power Forward Planning OSU Visit
Underwood landed a big fish yesterday with the commitment of South Miami point guard Zack Dawson. And he doesn’t appear to be done in the state of Florida. A 2017 power forward target, RaiQuan Gray, is planning a visit later this summer as well, per a source. Here’s what he said on twitter after Dawson announced his commitment yesterday:
? congrats Family ✊? https://t.co/E3UJXTpkT5

The 6-9 power forward recently named OSU in his top 12 schools. So it appears OSU will have a good shot to potentially close down on two of the top prospects from the state of Florida.
2017 OL target visiting OSU
OSU is set to host 2017 offensive lineman Dan Moore Jr. for an unofficial visit this weekend, as he posted on his twitter account.
Stillwater this weekend ? #GoPokes
— Dan Moore Jr. (@bigg_dan65) June 15, 2016
Moore is a big target for OSU [literally: 6-5, 315]. OSU made the offer to Moore in early June. The three-star prospect from Beaumont is clearly showing interest in the Pokes. I wouldn’t be surprised if OSU is in for some good news after the visit.
No. 1 Prospect Marvin Wilson Names OSU in top schools…again?
OK… So Marvin Wilson is a trip. The No. 1 player in the 2017 class at defensive tackle recently named his top schools and included OSU. But just a day later, he named a new top 10 and OSU was mysteriously removed from the list. But now it appears, OSU is once again back in the mix. Because recruiting!

2018 In-state wing visits OSU
Booker T. Washington wing Jaycson Bereal made an unofficial visit to Stillwater on Thursday, where he was greeted by the head man himself. Bereal has offers from TU, ORU, and Ark. Little Rock. He’s a bit of a raw prospect who is still developing, but has unreal athleticism
