TRANSFER PORTAL TRACKER

After weekslong wonder of will he or won’t he, Javon Small has, in fact, reportedly entered the transfer portal.

Small officially popped in the portal Monday morning, according to multiple reports. Back on March 18, the first day the portal opened, reports surfaced that Small would enter the portal, but then later that day Small put out on social media that he was “not officially in the transfer portal.”

Small led the Cowboys in scoring this past season, putting up 15.1 points a game. He was also the Cowboys’ leader in assists, averaging 4.1 a game, and he was fourth on the team in rebounding at 4.7 a game.

Also one of the better 3-point shooters on the team, Small hit 37% of his 163 attempts this past season.

He scored 20 or more points six times this past season, putting up a season-high 34 against BYU in Provo, a game he hit five 3s in. Small had a pair of double-doubles on the year: a 29-point, 10-rebound performance against Notre Dame and a 15-point, 12-rebound day against West Virginia.

Small transferred to Oklahoma State from East Carolina ahead of last season. He averaged 15.8 points, 4.8 rebounds and 5.6 assists in his final season with the Pirates. He is a native of South Bend, Indiana.

OSU fired coach Mike Boynton on March 14 before hiring Steve Lutz on April 1. Small was absent from Lutz’s introductory news conference, as were the other OSU players in the portal: Brandon Garrison, Eric Dailey Jr. and Quion Williams.

With Small in the portal, Lutz has eight scholarships to fill this offseason.
