Report: Mason Rudolph to Sit out of the Senior Bowl with Injury
Former Oklahoma State quarterback and NFL prospect Mason Rudolph has sprained his left foot and will have to sit out the upcoming Senior Bowl, according to NFL Insider Ian Rapoport.
Rapoport said Rudolph’s sprain doesn’t require surgery and is now stable, and although he can’t play in the game, he will still attend the Senior Bowl for measurements & interviews.
Rudolph led the Cowboys to a 10-3 record this past season, throwing for over 4,900 yards and 37 touchdowns in the process. The South Carolina native broke multiple records in 2017 and surpassed former Cowboy Brandon Weeden in passing yards in a season and yards per game.
Rudolph also broke Barry Sanders’ record for total touchdowns in a season and tied Weeden’s record for single-season passing touchdowns. He most recently accepted the 2017 Johnny Unitas Golden Arm Award in November.
Rudolph’s draft projections vary, but a recent CBS Sports ranking placed Rudolph as the N0. 1 quarterback prospect in the upcoming draft. An Athlon Sports mock draft even had Rudolph going No. 1 overall to the Cleveland Browns.
The Senior Bowl will be held in Ladd-Peebles Stadium in Mobile, Alabama, on Jan. 27.
