Report: OSU Starting Offensive Lineman Isaia Glass Enters Transfer Portal
Glass was OSU’s most experienced offensive lineman eligible to return.
The Cowboys had one starter on the offensive like this past season who was eligible to return, but it looks like that lineman will at the very least keep his options open.
Isaia Glass entered the transfer portal when it opened on Monday, according to 247Sports’ McClain Baxley. Glass transferred to Oklahoma State from Arizona State ahead of this past season. He played in all 12 of the Cowboys’ games in 2024, making eight starts between right and left tackle.
Glass started the year by splitting time at left tackle with Dalton Cooper but made a move to the right side of the offensive line ahead of the Cowboys’ trip to Tulsa when starting right tackle Jake Springfield suffered an injury. When Springfield came back, Glass moved back to the left side, as Cooper missed three games toward the end of the season. Pro Football Focus had Glass at 347 snaps at left tackle and 309 snaps at right tackle.
OSU recruited Glass out of Queen Creek High School in Arizona before he ultimately chose the Sun Devils. He also had offers to Arizona, Colorado, Indiana, Iowa State, Kansas State, Oregon State, Utah and others. He played in six games as a freshman in 2021 before starting all 12 of the Sun Devils games in 2022. He made three starts in Tempe in 2023 before redshirting to deal with an injury and ultimately transferring out.
According to Pro Football Focus, Glass played 656 snaps for the Cowboys this past season, allowing two sacks and 11 hurries.
The Cowboys will have to almost entirely rebuild its offensive line this offseason. Along with Glass’ presumed exit, Cooper, Springfield, Joe Michalski, Preston Wilson and Cole Birmingham all ran out of eligibility when the clock hit zeroes in Boulder. With Glass now in the portal, Austin Kawecki is the only returning offensive lineman to play at least 100 snaps in 2024 (Kawecki played 120).
The Cowboys have already started the offensive line rebuild a bit when grabbing Tulsa’s starting center Kasen Carpenter out of the portal. Carpenter played 873 snaps with Tulsa as a redshirt freshman this past season.
