Rickie Fowler Has Been Texting Jordan Spieth From The Olympics To Make Him Jealous
I’m not sure anyone is taking in the 2016 Olympics experience quite like Rickie Fowler. First there was that haircut at the Opening Ceremonies. Then he’s posing with divers of all countries (but especially female ones from the U.S.). Now he’s rocking the sickest Team USA hat he could find ahead of Thursday’s first round of play. I mean look at that thing.
Fowler told Golf Channel’s Todd Lewis he’s had a blast.
“It’s never that we’re around many other athletes,” said Fowler. “Every once in a while we’ll be around someone from a certain sport but not multiple sports combined and the best athletes in the world. To be an Olympic athlete — some people may not say golfers are athletes — but we’re good at what we do. It’s been an incredible experience.”
For @RickieFowler, one of the cool things about #Rio2016 is being around top athletes from other sports.https://t.co/JrynL8Eau3

“Words really can’t describe [the experience],” Fowler told the Washington Post. He also admitted to them that he’s been texting Jordan Spieth who pulled out of the Olympics a month ago. “I’m trying to make some of my other buddies that stayed home as jealous as possible. They’re definitely missing out.”
Rickie admits he's been texting the guys who skipped Rio, trying to make them jealous. Um, pictures please.

Fowler is drinking in every bit of this year’s Games and even showing off his humorous side (which is usually pretty buried beneath the professionalism and buttoned-up demeanor). Here’s the Post again.
Days before the tournament starts, Fowler has cherished his experience. After he smashed a drive on the fourth hole Sunday, Fowler strutted down the fairway. An official he knew from the tour rode over in a golf cart and jokingly greeted him.
“Would you like a ride up to your ball?” he asked. “Got a four-seater.” “I’m good,” Fowler said, playfully puffing out his chest. “I’m an Olympic athlete.”
Awesome. Now maybe he can bring home a gold medal.
