Ruby Meylan — that is all.

Oklahoma State shut out No. 4 Texas 5-0 on Wednesday night in Austin, with the Cowgirl ace throwing the complete game shutout in which she allowed just two hits while walking none and striking out four.

It marks the fifth straight complete game Meylan has thrown, and OSU has won the past nine games Meylan has pitched in. The game’s final out was a grounder back to her. She coolly snagged the ball and tossed to first before her team celebrated around her.

The game was a pitchers’ duel until the sixth when Rosie Davis smoked a ball to straightaway center to open the scoring. It was a two-run shot and came with a bat flip Sam Show would be proud of.

The Cowgirls got some further insurance in the seventh when Aubrey Jones doubled to score pinch runner Kaya Booker.

Redshirt freshman Madison Hoffman then stepped in as a pinch hitter and hit her first career home run to make it 5-0.

The past week as seen the Cowgirls beat No. 1 OU, take two of three off No. 16 Arizona and now beat No. 4 Texas in Austin.

There was a wonder as to whether the Cowgirls could climb into the top 16 to host, and it seems they are well on their way to that given the past seven days. Play like that the remaining seven games of the regular season, and it should be an open and shut case.

OSU is in Waco this weekend with the Cowgirls’ series opener against Baylor starting at 6:30 p.m. Friday on ESPN+.
