Ryan Crotty Returning for Sophomore Season at Oklahoma State

A second member of Steve Lutz’s 2025 recruiting class will be back in Stillwater for his sophomore season.

Ryan Crotty joins Benjamin Ahmed as returning rising sophomores, with Oklahoma State announcing Crotty’s return Thursday morning.

Crotty took part in 28 games as a freshman, earning 10 starts. In 10 minutes a game, he averaged 2.5 points and 1.5 rebounds.

Listed at 6-foot-6, Crotty will develop into a sharpshooter, but he did run into some freshman struggles in that aspect in his first season of the college game. After sinking a combined 247 3-pointers in his final two years of high school, Crotty went 16-for-54 (30%) from deep as a freshman. That’ll surely work itself out, as Crotty’s teammates and coaches have raved about his work ethic since getting on campus.

Crotty was a four-star prospect in the 2025 class with 247Sports listing him as the No. 83 player in the cycle. He chose Oklahoma State over offers from Miami, Virginia Tech, Clemson, Maryland and others.

This marks the third player from last season’s roster to announce his return along with Ahmed and Kanye Clary.

Daniel Guetta, Vyctorius Miller, Jaylen Curry, Robert Jennings II, Isaiah Coleman and Andrija Vukovic have all entered the portal since it opened Tuesday. That leaves Mekhi Ragland as the only guy from last year who hasn’t made his intentions known publicly.
