Coleman was a four-star prospect in the 2023 recruiting class out of Word of God Christian Academy in North Carolina. He was the No. 114 player in the class, according to the 247Sports Composite ranking, and signed with Seton Hall over offers from Auburn, Mississippi State, Tennessee, Miami, UConn, Texas A&M and others.

He was named to the Big East’s All-Freshman Team for the 2023-24 season after playing in 33 games and making three starts for the Pirates. He averaged 5.4 points and 2.6 rebounds a game while shooting 48% from the field as a freshman.

Coleman turned a good freshman year into a great sophomore season. He scored 20 or more points in 11 games this past season, including a career-high 27 against Marquette in January. He also had nine rebounds in that game. Coleman had a pair of double-doubles this season — 21 points, 10 boards against Georgetown and 12 points, 10 boards against VCU.

Coleman led the Pirates in scoring and rebounding as a sophomore.

The OSU staff got a pretty good look at Coleman in December when the Cowboys went up to New Jersey for the Big 12-Big East Battle. Coleman scored 18 points against the Pokes, going 7-for-12 form the field.

Coleman attempted 129 3s this past season, hitting 38 (30%). He made 76% of his 134 free-throw attempts.

The Cowboys’ staff has been hard at work recruiting the portal. There have been more than 30 reports linking OSU to various players. The Cowboys had eight scholarship seniors on the roster this past season. Sophomore guard Connor Dow has also entered the portal.
