Social Reaction: Gundy’s Mullet Gets Crying Jordan Treatment

Bedlam never gets old, but seeing a different movie wouldn’t be bad either.

Oklahoma State had the ball down three with a minute left at the Oklahoma 38 and couldn’t get it done, eventually falling to the Sooners for the 87th time, 62-52.

Hearts were broken Saturday, and it started early when Abdul Adams caught a ball out of the backfield, took nine steps, switched the ball to his left arm and fumbled. OSU picked it up and scored to go up 10-0, but the call was overturned, and instead, OU punted it away, and the Cowboys did not score on the ensuing drive.

The game got wild. After the fumble, which will always be a fumble, OU didn’t go a single drive without points until halftime, and the Cowboys only punted once — all other drives ended in six. After two quarters, the box score looked more like something media members would be handed at the end of the game. There were 76 points, 857 yards, two 100-yard receivers, a 100-yard rusher, a 250+ passer and another with more than 380.

Still, OSU only led for about seven minutes for the entire game. The Sooner defense had more holes in it than a thimble, but the Cowboys kept beating themselves and missing opportunities, which made stats like these blow your mind.

On the backside of halftime, the OSU defense stiffened. Calvin Bundage came alive and finished with two sacks and two tackles for losses. He was everywhere during stretches of the second half.

In the end, Baker Mayfield showed why he will probably win the Heisman Trophy, and now winning the Big 12 is extremely unlikely for Oklahoma State. More important, Saturday’s Bedlam tilt showed more about a rivalry than a team.
