Social Reaction: Oklahoma State Downs No. 19 WVU, Everybody Goes Nuts on Twitter
Another Saturday, another monster Big 12 road win for Oklahoma State. The Cowboys took down No. 19 West Virginia 88-85 on ESPN to grab their second-straight victory over a top 20 team on the road.
The reaction, as you might expect for a team that led for all of 36 seconds during the final 20 minutes, was amazing. Here are some of the best tweets from Saturday’s game.
Not sure about first team, but he’s certainly trending.
Not so crazy take: Cam McGriff will be a 1st team Big 12 player by the time he’s done in Stillwater.

Cam McGriff aka Amare Stoudemire with the circus shot and the foul! #okstate pic.twitter.com/wjjVoMXAa9

Cam McGriff is 13-for-13 on free-throw attempts, the most made free throws by an #okstate player since Marcus Smart made 16 against Texas in 2014.

Nobody gets more bounce-ins from 19 feet than Carter.
Carter throws up some complete trash that goes in.

Wow.
"Oklahoma State trying to do something they've never done, and that's win consecutive road games against top-20 teams." #okstate

Boynton got a lot of love from the national media on Saturday.
Mike Boynton has exceeded all expectations in his first season at Oklahoma State. Cowboys now own wins at Kansas, at West Virginia, vs. Oklahoma, vs. Florida State and vs. Texas.

Poised young coach. Very impressive. Huge win for Cowboys.
— Fran Fraschilla (@franfraschilla) February 10, 2018
Mike Boynton and the Oklahoma State Cowboys were thought to be the ninth-best team—at absolute best—in the Big 12.
They’ve won AT Kansas and AT West Virginia this season.
Ridiculous.

OSU keeps racking up quality wins. Road wins matter more! What a job by Mike Boynton in his first season. https://t.co/GnzpI2kM4G

Oklahoma State has now won road games at Kansas and West Virginia to go with a home win against Oklahoma and a neutral site win over FSU. Resume.

These made me laugh.
Zone Virginia had a better chance than Press Virginia against OkState

I’m honestly surprised @espn hasn’t switched over to OU/ISU to show their lord and savior Trae Young.
— Blake Zimmerman (@bpzim) February 10, 2018
It’s been incredibly impressive.
Mike Boynton, who is 36 years old, has beat Leonard Hamilton, Bob Huggins, and Bill Self. All on the road. Not that those are big name basketball coaches or anything.
— Brodie Myers (@MyersVoice) February 10, 2018
Yes. In stats that make no sense: #okstate is 3-1 in its last four games against ranked teams, and 0-4 in its last four games versus unranked teams. https://t.co/0BP3jrnTul
— Mark Cooper (@mark_cooperjr) February 10, 2018
Best I can tell, @thacoachmike now has more wins over ranked opponents than any other first year coach in #OKState history with four (FSU, OU, KU & WVU) and most of the other coaches had teams that were either receiving votes or ranked at some point in those seasons.
— Mike Harris (@TheMikeHarris) February 10, 2018
Caught @thacoachmike and his mob get a big win today at #19 WVU… this guy coaches like he played. Calm and collective and full of epic leadership.. still the best leader I have ever been around.
— Tre' Kelley (@TreKel1ey) February 10, 2018
I’m not totally sure how this works, but it does kind of make sense.
Hunziker is talking about this now, but it’s true… OSU is actually better match up wise against the top teams in the league than bottom

How about them Cowboys ! Another road W ! So proud of the fight and toughness @OSUMBB played with today. #OkState #GoPokes

We are all Chuck!
I just say I laughed when Oklahoma State elected to elevate Mike Boynton after Brad Underwood left for Illinois. The joke's on me. He's done a helluva job
