Oklahoma State picked up a commitment from Guthrie big man Hayden Simpson late Sunday night. Simpson was a 5A State Champion this past season at 220 pounds for Guthrie and helped lead the Blue Jays to runner-up finishes at Dual State and the OSSAA State tournament.
“I was blessed to have many great options as to where to take my wrestling career to the next level,” he said on Instagram. “I want to thank all of the coaches for their interest! However there has ALWAYS only been one place that I wanted to wrestle and that dream is now a reality.”
Simpson has had some solid success in Greco representing Oklahoma on the Junior National Dual team this season. He finished as an All-American the past two years at Fargo, including a fifth-place finish this past weekend.
Simpson is a graduated senior and projects as a college heavyweight.
