State’s Top Ranked DE Says He had Great time at OSU
Scout’s No. 1 ranked defensive end in Oklahoma, Isaiah Thomas, made an unofficial visit to Stillwater on Monday after visiting Norman over the weekend. Thomas, a 6-foot-4, 230-pound freak from Tulsa Memorial, jumped on twitter and said he had a great time during his time at OSU.

For what it’s worth, he said the same of his visit to Norman the day before.
Thomas is a wanted man in Oklahoma, and will make another visit to Norman this weekend for the spring scrimmage – with a decision coming likely before the school year in the fall. The Sooners are positioning themselves very well with the in-state standout, and at least from the outside, Thomas appears to be liking both in-state schools and exploring all his options. Although Monday was his first time in Stillwater, the Cowboys made a great impression.
“It was great, it was perfect,” Thomas told Rivals after his visits to Norman and then Stillwater. “I got to see two in-state rivals, instead of seeing one, one month and then the other the next month. It’s great to compare and contrast what one had and the other didn’t have it was perfect to weigh out my options,” he said.
“I was really impressed by everything they have … I met all the players, they came up to me and talked to me and saw the coaches … I was very, very impressed,” he said of his time in Stillwater.
Thomas also said the two schools (OU and OSU) are “very similar in a lot of ways” and that “they both had plenty to offer.”
If I were guessing, I’d still say Thomas is a heavy Sooners lean. From a pure need perspective, the Cowboys, who lost a last second commitment from Jonathan Marshall flipping to Arkansas last year, could use the help at end more than the Sooners, who signed three standout defensive ends in their 2016 class. Oklahoma State signed just one prospect at end last year in junior college standout Tralund Webber, so clearly an in-state prospect like Thomas is a high priority for the Cowboy coaching staff. And that’s great news for OSU if he came away impressed after his first visit in Stillwater.
