The Push for 700: How to Win Season Tickets to OSU Hoops

Off the top, I’d like to apologize for pushing PFB+ so hard in recent days and weeks. Those of you who already subscribe don’t want to see any more content about it. Those of you who will never subscribe don’t want to see any more content about it. But it’s those of you who are in neither of those groups that I’m talking to when I write about this stuff.

In some ways, these are the most important posts I write. They are the ones that help sustain this website with a revenue stream that is only becoming more and more valuable to us.

I’ll keep this one short.

I said at the beginning of this month that if we reached 700 subscribers by November 1, we would randomly give away season tickets for two to one of our PFB+ subscribers. I didn’t really think we could get to 700 by the end of the month, but I thought it would be a fun goal and an even better giveaway.

An update: It’s October 30, and we are almost at 700 subscribers. We’re a few dozen short but closing in on that totally-arbitrary-but-suddenly-magical number.

I told somebody the other day, but this year feels like a real inflection point for us. Maybe that’s poppycock, but it feels like PFB is growing in a real way as the best provider of OSU news and community. That’s based on our subscriber base, sure, but also on a number of different internal factors as well.

That’s exciting for us and good for those who are already in the fold. A deeper, smarter community — specifically in our forum — cultivates a deeper, smarter community. Come join us as we spin this thing into November and all the Novembers after that.
