The Rise Of Gundy
Big thanks to OKC Dave (sad that I don’t even know his last name) for putting this together. It shows how many games over/under .500 Gundy has been in conference play in the last seven years. The black line represents a .500 record in conference play.
More commentary after the jump.
- Not that anyone is taking anything for granted, but all of this can change so, so fast. Just look at our trajectory in 2005.
- It’s weird that from 2007 to 2009 Gundy only improved his overall conference record by five games. It felt like 55.
- It’s also weird that he only got back to .500 after the Tech game last year. His overall record seemed better than that at that point.
- The last two seasons have been meteoric, both for Gundy and for OSU’s program, I think this graphic accurately displays just how meteoric they’ve been.
